I was in Auckland City and walked from my workplace to home every night. Most shops were closed, but some buildings were nicely lit and gorgeous. When you enjoy sightseeing in the daytime and go to bed, I recommend you to go out at night and have a look at these buildings. The buildings are lit up every day, and the colors change.
Sky tower
You can find information about the lighting here. The colors of the lights are not always the same. Also, the colors can change stepwise.
The tower is high enough, so you don’t need to get close to it. You can see it even when you are a bit far away.
Civic
I took the photo above. It was not dark yet, but when it got night, it looked so beautiful. It had lights of a single color, but the colors differed.
The building is faced on Queen Street, the largest street in Auckland City. Even at night, people are walking. You don’t need to be scared of being outside late at night.
